This year marks my 8th year teaching at West Ranch, however, my career in this district spans much longer. After starting my career in 1996 at Arroyo Seco, I moved to Golden Valley when it opened and was part of the leadership team there. While at GV, I taught all levels of social studies - Mod Civ, U.S. History, Economics, Government, and AP World History. I'm excited to be continuing to develop the AP World History and AP Psychology programs here at West Ranch.

Despite moving from Wisconsin in 1995 I'm still deeply rooted in my Wisconsin upbringing. I grew up a farmer's daughter in a rural town of only 400 people. Although students are often shocked by that, I readily admit that my small-town farming upbringing gave me a solid work ethic and appreciation for a slower pace of life - one that I get to enjoy on visits to Wisconsin several times a year to visit my family.

I moved to California with my husband who works in TV and film production. We have two boys ages 13 and 16. They are part of the reason for my move to West Ranch. We already lived in Stevenson Ranch but I also wanted to teach in the community where they attend school. My older son was actually in my AP World History class last year which was an interesting experience for both of us.

As a family, we love everything Disney including the Marvel and Star Wars franchises. We travel to Disney World a couple of times a year and are regular visitors to Disneyland. In addition, we love to get out and explore the world around us whether it's a weekend trip to San Diego or a visit to a favorite local attraction. I also love to build Legos and go to the movies when we have time.

If you have any questions are concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. My goal this year is to help you be successful!
