submitted all completed forms (Athletic Packet Above) to ASB or Athletic Director.


Tryout Information

Girls Volleyball- For all girls interested in playing 2014 volleyball: Lunch meeting on 8/14 at 12:15 in room 423. Tryouts will take place 8/14 and 8/15 after school 3-5pm in the main gym.

Baseball- 2015 Freshmen tryouts will be Tuesday September 2 (3-5pm) Wednesday September 3 (305pm), and Thursday September 4 (1-3pm). See Coach Casey Burrill with any questions.


Physical Information
1. Physicals are required for all athletic participants.
2. You may go to your own doctor.
3. Physicals are valid for one year from the date of issue. Must have physical at start of each summer.

Physicals- Valencia Sports Med on Tuesdays. They are $20 they just need to call and schedule 661-288-1212

Welcome to West Ranch High School where we are excited to share our philosophy of relationships, rigor, and relevance in athletics with you. Emphasizing academic achievement while, offering competitive sports to our student athletes is our main goal. It is through teaching the fundamentals and rules of the game, that our coaching staff will instill many qualities such as industriousness, honesty, integrity, and sportsmanship. It is our belief that these qualities will benefit you while attending West Ranch and beyond! Congratulations on becoming Wildcats!

Wildcat Athletics offer 17 competitive and exciting teams at the Varsity, JV, and Freshmen levels. We encourage you to play as many sports as possible. Fall sports offered are Cross Country, Football, Girl’s Golf, Girl’s Tennis, and Girl’s Volleyball. Winter sports are Boy’s and Girl’s Basketball and Soccer. Spring sports are Baseball, Boy’s Golf, Softball, Swimming, Track, and Boy’s Tennis and Boy’s Volleyball. Tryouts for each sport will be held prior to each season. Exact dates will be determined be each coach. The fall season is from August to November. The winter season is from November to February. The spring season is from February to May.

Students need to have a physical examination by a licensed physician before tryouts. Students will also need to complete the Athletic Packet. These forms are available on this web page or in the attendance office. Student athletes will also comply with rules and regulations as prescribed in the California Interscholastic Federation.

Dress requirements for each sport vary and must be supplied by the athlete. Most sports require tennis shoes or rubber cleats, socks, shorts, and t-shirts. Other equipment may be required. Students should talk to their coach to determine specific needs.

Booster Clubs are organized by the coach and the parents to assist the coach with provisions for the teams. Fundraising ideas are arranged through the coaching staff and booster club.

Off-season programs are offered to athletes who wish to continue developing their skills when their sport is not in season. Students receive physical education credits for this class, as well as the class when they are in season.
