Students are working in groups to create an ultimate travel adventure - a plan for a one-year tour of the world with specific activities and sites they need to address. The goal is to help students discover all the world has to offer. They are searching for everything from adventure tours to humanitarian trips. 
 
Part of the final grade is a video or slide show presentation highlighting some of their trip. These will be presented on their last day of AP World (Final Exam Day). See instructions below. The planning worksheets were shared with each group in class.

    • Students worked in their groups discussing a series of scenarios that confronted the world in the years leading up to WWII. Groups were asked to choose the action they would take and justify why. 
  • Causes of the War - once students were done with preview activity, they worked with their groups to research the causes of the war using the links provided in Google Classroom (we will finish this on Monday)
    • HW: World War II PPT notes (a nice and easy homework assignment after the difficult and time-consuming one you just completed) - the PPTs you need for this are posted in Google Classroom

    1. Students turned in four different assignments that they have been working on over the past few days: Imperialism in Africa, Imperialism in Asia, Key Concept 5.2 and Key Concept 5.4
    2. QUIZ (KC 5.2 and 5.4) - if you were absent, please make arrangements to come in outside of class to make this up in the next week.
    3. I returned the Period 5 test from before Spring Break. Students had a chance to look it over quickly but with the short periods, they didn't have much time. We will be coming back to the test over the next couple of weeks.
      • Students were also given an estimated AP score based on the last test to help them focus their studying and writing strategies.
    HW: Key Concept 6.1 is due next Tuesday; there will be a quiz on 6.1 AND World War I (Friday's lesson) on Tuesday; I've included a handout from the AMSCO book which should help significantly with this key concept
     
    IMPORTANT: Next Thursday 4/25 will be the SAQ portion of the final exam. It will be structured and time exactly like the AP exam. We will review some important strategies for writing and earning maximum points. Remember that the final is worth double points!
