Basic Economics

Welcome to Basic Economics.  In this course, students will demonstrate their

understanding of how and why the United States and other societies develop

economic systems.  We will discuss the American system of capitalism and the

relationship between the government and the private sector.

We will further address and analyze the relationship between supply and demand and how it affects an open market economy.  We will also discuss the United States’ involvement and role in an expanding global economy. 

Lastly, along the way, we will analyze some of the more compelling stories in business - stories which highlight key economic principles and which chronicle the rise of industries that have forever changed our society.
