Hola a todos,
My name is Shantal Rivas. I was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador and moved to Santa Clarita at the age of 12. I graduated from Canyon High School and had the opportunity to go back and teach there for two years. I completed my undergrad and credential program at CSUN. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish Language and Culture and have been teaching since 2004. Prior to teaching High School I taught Elementary School.
During my free time I enjoy cooking, shopping, watching movies and spending time with my family. I am married and have three children. I like to go camping, hang out at the beach, dance and play board games. I am very close to my parents and 2 brothers. We often have family gatherings where we eat, talk, laugh and enjoy each other’s company.
This year I will be teaching Spanish I and II. One of my goals is to make my classes enjoyable and comprehensible. It is always rewarding to hear from former students how much fun they had learning a new language. I hope this will be a productive, challenging and encouraging year for all of my students. I am looking forward to an amazing school year. Go Wildcats!
