      • There have been a lot of changes to your bank account in the past week. Your spreadsheet needs to accurately match your bank account. This will be worth 100 points when the simulation is over.

    • Students used the posters that were created in class on Monday to complete the chart in their notes. Each poster displayed a market equation for a different industry. Students took notes on the market characteristics and then used that to determine the type of market shown.

  • We spent much of today getting everyone caught up and moving forward with Budget Challenge. students were assigned a Cash Flow Spreadsheet in Google Classroom where they inputted all of the transactions from their bank accounts in the simulation. By reconciling their accounts, they could plan for the bills that need to be paid in the next few weeks. The spreadsheet did not need to be turned in yet in Google Classroom. I will check them periodically throughout the simulation.
  • Any remaining time was spent working on the Savings Packet. 
  • All students were given an updated grade report today that showed any missing work they need to complete by Monday 3/12.
    • All make-up quizzes are going to be completed at the beginning of class on Thursday.
    • Students also have the opportunity to re-take the Demand quiz using their notes. I will give them the average of their two scores if they want to improve.
The Mid-Term will be next Friday 3/16. It will make up 25% of their grade.

    • Ms. Prante worked through the rest of the class notes and students had time to work on the practice problems.
    • On Friday, you will have a short amount of time to finish the practice problems and ask questions before you have a quiz on all of demand.

  1. Law of Demand - Ms. Prante walked the students through an activity and notes (see PPT below) to introduce the concept of Demand. This begins our section on the American Market Economy focusing on the interaction of supply and demand. 
    • After completing the notes, students worked on the PRACTICE problems related to demand
  2. Ms. Prante then started to work through "Changes in Demand" to help students understand what causes consumer demand to change. If time allowed, students got started on the PRACTICE problems for changes in Demand.

    • These need to be complete by Wednesday 2/14 at 11:59 PM or you will not begin the simulation on time and will start at a disadvantage to everyone else.
    • You will be able to change your Job and Bank decisions during the simulation. The rest of your decisions will be LOCKED once the simulation starts.
