  1. Taxes (Part 3) - students had 15 minutes to complete this and turn it in
  2. Grade reports were passed out.
  3. Simulation Information Packet - students had some time to work their way through this reading guide that helps them look at the key concepts related to the decisions they need to make for the simulation (this was due at the end of the period)
  4. Vendor Selections - students got started making their selections; if you were absent, please ask the members of your group to help you with the Job and Bank decisions, otherwise you should be able to complete the rest on your own
    • These need to be complete by Wednesday 2/14 at 11:59 PM or you will not begin the simulation on time and will start at a disadvantage to everyone else.
    • You will be able to change your Job and Bank decisions during the simulation. The rest of your decisions will be LOCKED once the simulation starts.
All missing assignments need to be completed by tomorrow or they will not be accepted for credit!

  4. "Characteristics of the American Free Enterprise System" - use the "TCI Text" below which has a short reading to help you complete the chart in your packet
  5. "Index of Economic Freedom" - use this link the complete the chart in your packet; choose one country from each level to describe
  6. Tax Packet (Part 2) - students had the rest of class to work on this; links are in Google Classroom; anything you don't complete in class is homework

  2. Chapter 2, Section 1 (see PDF below) - use the PDF to complete the next two pages of your packet on The Three Economic Questions, Free Enterprise and Socialism, and Adam Smith/Karl Marx
  3. Taxes (Part 2) - use the links in Google Classroom to work through the sections on Teens and Taxes as well as the Tax Cycle and Job Paperwork
HW: Make sure your Economic Systems packet is complete through the chart on Smith and Marx. There will be a short quiz at the beginning of class on Friday on this content and then we will finish up the rest of it.

  3. Interview Challenge - students worked in groups to practice interviewing each other with sample job interview question; students were scored by their peers based on clarity, examples, and enthusiasm
  4. PRACTICE - Goods, Services, and Factors of Production
    • This activity is in the "Economic Decision Making" packet. Students looked at images posted around the room to complete the columns. The images are posted below for you to do this on your own if you were absent.
  5. Class Notes - Opportunity Cost (see PPT below) - we completed the activities up to Production Possibilities Curves; we will complete this last section before we take the quiz on Thursday
