Heat Index and Air Quality

Safety is our number one priority for our students, whether they participate in athletics, performing arts or in our physical education classes.

Activity should be modified and/or eliminated based on the Heat Index and Air Quality Index.

In agreement with the William S. Hart School District and Foothill League, we use a Wet Bulb Globe Thermometer and Air Quality measuring device to measure the Heat Index and Air Quality to determine whether or not activities should be canceled. The California Extreme Heat and Air Quality Policy is attached below.

The National Weather Service website and EPA Air Now apps are additional resources that may be used to monitor heat and air quality.
