The option to have a Period 1 class is a privilege and students who request a Period 1 class are expected to meet the following criteria:
7am—12 noon and 1pm—1:30 pm* Parents/guardians must send a note or call in for their student to be released. If calling, please keep in mind, we would like at least 30 minutes to get to your message and retrieve your student. If sending a note, please state the reason why the student is leaving and the time you want student released.
If someone other than parent/guardian is picking up a student, we must receive a note or a phone call from parent/guardian stating who is picking up the student. Please make sure to state the reason why and the time you want the student released. A hand written or e-mailed note is best from the parent email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org
*Hours of 12 noon—1pm – ANY STUDENT THAT DOES NOT HAVE AN OFF-CAMPUS LUNCH PASS MUST BE SIGNED OUT BY THE PARENT(S)/GUARDIAN(S) ONLY. Parent(s)/guardian(s) must physically come to the Attendance Office to sign and release the student.
Parents/guardians are to call or write a note of excuse within 24 hours of the absence. Education Code 48260, states that any student who is absent from school without a valid excuse for three or more days will be considered truant. Parents/guardians should provide written medical, and or legal notices when possible.
A tardy is given to a student within the first 30 minutes of class. It can only be cleared as an excused tardy if a student arrives with a dentist, doctor or court note.
In addition, please keep in mind, no student can be released from class the last 15 minutes of the day.
No Food/Drink Drop-Off
Beginning 2018-2019 school year, the school will not accept food/drink drop-off items for students. The only exception will be a medical emergency (such as Diabetes), which must be verified and handled through the Health Office. Students have several options with our new food service provider, Sodexo. Students may also bring their lunch with them. We appreciate your cooperation.
To create and deposit money into a cafeteria account for your student to use during the year, you may do so online. Go to hartdistrict.org, click on: Departments – then Food Services - then MySchoolBucks.com to create an account.
Forgotten items such as homework, books, backpacks, sports equipment, etc. may be accepted at the Student Responsibility Center by the front gate. It is your students’ responsibility to pick up their items between classes. No items will be delivered and classes will not be interrupted during instructional time.
