Principal’s Message: September 15, 2024
Good afternoon Wildcats,
I hope everyone had an outstanding weekend! As a reminder, 5 week progress grades will be available in the infinite campus parent portal by 3pm tomorrow. Any student who needs extra academic support is encouraged to talk to there teacher or stop by the Homework Hub at lunch or the library after school. We have student tutors, teachers, and instructional assistants who are available for extra help if needed.
Club Rush will be taking place this week on Wednesday during brunch. I encourage all Wildcats to get involved and join at least one club this year. Club participation is a great way for students to build a sense of school community and to be able to explore interests outside of the classroom.
Students who purchased school pictures will get them in class this week. Pictures will be given to 3rd period teachers to distribute this week. Pictures that were taken on 9/11 will be distributed once we receive them. Have a tremendous week!

CASH for College, September 24th from 6:30pm
College of the Canyons is hosting its annual Cash for College event on September 24th at 6:30 PM in the Performing Arts Center.
The event is FREE and open to the entire community, with all the details provided in the attached flyer!
Given the changes and delays with the 2024-2025 FAFSA, it's important for our high school seniors and their families to know that assistance is available – at no cost! Financial aid experts will be on hand to guide attendees through both the FAFSA and California Dream Application processes. Whether students are planning to attend a 4-year university or a private institution, this is a great opportunity for families to get the help they need.

Voter Education Weeks (September 16th-27th)
Students are encouraged to register to vote (18 years or older) or pre-register to vote (16-17 years old) during the Voter Education Weeks. Teachers will share registration information and it can also be found on our website at our Voter Registration information page.

Counseling office Information
Seniors!!! Just a reminder that if you are planning to apply to a College/University under Early Action/Early Decision there are some deadlines approaching!!!
Counselors will need your information by Sept. 9th at 3pm. Your Counselors have sent you an email on 8/27 with a link to the College Admissions Workshop along with their Google form that outlines all the steps that need to be completed. Take a moment to watch the video and review all the steps!!

College and Career Fair at West Ranch September 16th 6:00pm-8:00pm
Meet one-on-one with representatives from industry, colleges/universities, and the military, to explore your future educational & career options. All high school students and families are welcome. There will be over 90 representatives and informational booths for you to ask questions from college and career professionals. Please stop by the West Ranch gymnasium on Monday September 16th from 6:00pm-8:00pm. See attached for a list of organizations that will be present.

PSAT Information
The PSAT/NMSQT is a junior level test in which 11th grade students are eligible to qualify for National Merit Scholarship standing. The PSAT is only given once a year, and will be offered at West Ranch High School on October 23, 2024 from 7:30 am-12:15 pm.
Juniors can register for the PSAT/NMSQT Exam NOW through September 25 (at noon). Registration is based upon space availability, and may close early if all seats sell out before deadlines listed above. REGISTER EARLY. The cost of the exam is $25 and all sales are final.
To register online, please go to the West Ranch ASB Online Store and follow the instructions. Again, registration is only open to Juniors. Please see attached flyer for additional information.
