American Government

Welcome to Basic American Government.  In this course, students will demonstrate their understanding of the necessity for establishing governments.  Students will also engage in an in-depth, standards-based study of the governmental system of the United States and other nations.  We will focus on the United States Constitution, the basic civic values of American constitutional democracy, as well as the roles, rights, and responsibilities of citizenship, including avenues of participation (voting/volunteering) and individual freedoms.  A primary objective of the class is to help students become more actively aware of the governmental policies and practices that affect every aspect of life in the United States.
