This year marks my 3rd year teaching at West Ranch, however, my career in this district spans much longer. After starting my career 22 years ago at Arroyo Seco, I moved to Golden Valley when it opened and was part of the leadership team there. While at GV, I taught all levels of social studies - Mod Civ, U.S. History, Economics, Government, and AP World History. I'm excited to be back teaching Economics here at West Ranch and I'm looking forward to bringing AP World to this campus.
Despite moving from Wisconsin in 1995 I'm still deeply rooted to my Wisconsin upbringing. As they say, I bleed red and white for the Badgers and green and gold for the Packers! Oh, and I'm one of the few that can say I love and miss the winters. I grew up a farmer's daughter in a rural town of only 400 people. Although students are often shocked by that, I readily admit that my small-town farming upbringing gave me a solid work ethic and appreciation for a slower pace of life - one that I get to enjoy on visits to Wisconsin several time a year to see my family.
I moved to California with my husband who works in TV and film production. We have two boys ages 8 and 11. They are the reason for my move to West Ranch. We already live in Stevenson Ranch but I also wanted to teach in the community where they attend school. At this point, they are excited about the prospect of one day attending the same school where I work.
As a family, we love everything Disney including the latest additions of the Marvel and Star Wars franchises. We travel to Disney World a couple times a year and are regular visitors to Disneyland. In addition, we love to get out and explore the world around us whether it's a weekend trip to San Diego or a visit to a favorite local attraction. I also love to build Legos and go to movies when we have time.
If you have any questions are concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. My goal this year is to help you be successful!
